STORY OF A FORT
LEGACY OF A NATION
Abu Dhabi, ARE
STORY OF A FORT, LEGACY OF A NATION is a visual and musical poem directed by Franco DRAGONE which pays an emotive tribute to the
250 years of history of the Emirates and the Bedouin culture. Franco DRAGONE gave to Luc PETIT’s team the responsibility of managing the casting for this extraordinary production.
JÉSUS C’EST SON NOM
To revive a story that had become universal in a different way… that was the challenge facing this new spectacle created at the Collegial of Huy.
A gigantic cross — representing both a story and a cultural heritage — supported massive projections which carried the words and transported the imagination of everyone.
Dancers brought new life to the name of Jesus through the marionette that came to life around the cross, which had become a ‘player’ in its own right, creating a mix of technologies, performances, and traditions. A surprising result !
DÉCROCHER LA LUNE V
La Louvière, BEL
Franco Dragone Entertainment Group called upon the talent of Luc PETIT for the fifth time to design and stage the urban opera Décrocher la Lune.
On Saturday 29th September 2012, superheroes were invited to the town centre of La Louvière. Set in a chaotic economic and political context, it was the heroes – from the most renowned to the heroes of everyday life – who helped Sancho to face the obstacles and take down the moon.
They all came together on stage, and on screen, but also among the crowd. Everyone there was asked to dress up as a hero for the occasion! Extraordinary ingredients for an exceptional show, shared by more than 30,000 spectators and broadcast live on all the regional TV channels. Sancho was faced with a whole lot of “baddies” from Star Wars, spreading terror throughout the town, led by the fearsome Joker who had come to steal the moon!
For AMWAY’s CHINA Gala in Munich, Luc PETIT designed a universe worthy of the Palace of Versailles.
Inspired by Dani LARY’s great illusions, he decided to sublimate the magician’s work by integrating him into a staging that consisted of no less than 30 dancers, 15 magicians, 20 swordsmen, 3 «Haute-Ecole» horses, a group of parrots and waterfall fountains.
ET LA PIERRE
The heritage opera entitled “And the stone became light” – Et la pierre devint lumière – created on the occasion of the septennial festivities, once again showcased the heritage and history of the collegial of Huy.
The collegial, known for its large, radiant, rose-shaped stained-glass window called “Li Rondia”, was also able to revise its history during eight presentations which attracted more than 2000 spectators. The artistic and technical means, which communicated the imagination of Luc PETIT, have once again evoked surprise, astonishment and the enthusiasm of the spectators: dreamlike tableaux, moments of suspended magic, acrobats, dancers and musicians contributed to this magnificent encounter between Stone and Light.
THE NEVER ENDING STORY
Arena World Tour
BEL, NLD, GBR, ARE, SGP, QAT, TWN, ÉAU
In 2012, Luc PETIT and his team conceptualized the greatest video mapping show for arenas, inspired by the story of PETER PAN. After having been acclaimed by hundreds of thousands of theatre-goers in Belgium and the Netherlands, Luc PETIT’s new show – mixing dance, singing, comedy, acrobatics, lighting effects and videos – continues its life with a worldwide tour (United Kingdom, Dubai, Singapore…).
Franco DRAGONE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP asked Luc PETIT to stage and produce an INDIAN WEDDING in Venice. The program included three shows during three days in three different places. Every show was an unique creation. GOTAN PROJECT and SHAKIRA provided the finale for two shows staged by Luc PETIT.
MAIS IL EST OÙ LE SOLEIL ?
For the third consecutive year, Luc PETIT presents the Autumn-Winter collection of the Belgian ready-to-wear brand. Mais il est où le soleil?
As a catwalk, a podium consisting of an ice rink where models and performers meet on. At the back of the stage, a decor animated by video mapping projections that take us on a journey between an urban setting, a forest or an iceberg from which the models dressed in the brand’s latest creations appear. Fire performances, majestic bird flights, live orchestra, all the ingredients are gathered to sublimate the beauty of this winter collection.
JEAN PAUL GAULTIER’S
For the 2011 JUSTE POUR RIRE FESTIVAL in Montreal, street performers presented a carnival based on the fashion designer Jean Paul GAULTIER– social, elegant and playful – during a colourful weekend. A magnificent homage that even France has never paid to the bad boy of fashion!
Based on an original idea by Danielle ROY, in line with the “La planète mode de Jean Paul GAULTIER – De la rue aux étoiles” exhibition presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Canadian artist and Luc PETIT offered the public the JEAN PAUL GAULTIER PARADE and finale.
This international parade brought together numerous professional artists but it was, above all, the 1600 or so citizens of Greater Montreal who took part in the festivities.
